I write these long folk songs because that's what comes out.....So I write what I feel...Rules don't work for me...but I do try to keep it musical

I put my trust in future days
When I was young and needed faith
To face the dreams young men inspire
Searching for their heart's desire
The shades of love I never knew
Were hidden from my point of view.
While fantasies prepared my soul
For every pleasure lovers know.

(sung higher like a chorus)
And now the truth has come to fall
Upon those dreams of protocol
With mortgages and new car loans
and lovers never found at home.
I call to say I'm working late
your message says I'll have to wait
For future days without the haste.

A blue-eyed girl and winning smile
You captured me with grace and style
And there I was in love with you
With promises and  phantom truth
And you became my romance queen
I fulfilled your knightly needs
With a guarantee of loyalty
And no question of our destiny.

(sung higher like a chorus)
Now it all comes down to time and place
And the truth of love all have to face
Where passion greets integrity
With uncertain strains of quality
And bills are paid with numbered ease
In future days where lovers meet.

(INSTRUMENTAL)

Now those of us who played the game
And realized the pain of change
Never knew when we were young
The curtain call would never come
Seems long ago and far away
When all the promises were made
And dreams they gave away for free
Dissolved into reality.

(sung higher like a chorus)
But we're still here and we still care
We treat ourselves when we dare
We find ourselves alone sometimes
Repenting for the loss of time
But then I hold you close to me
And say c'mon  n dance with me
There's future days for you and me.

Rep: Future days for you and me.....

IF YOU HAVE TO JUDGE SOMEONE DO IT ON THE SIDE OF MERCY AND LET TIME SEASON THE RESULTS.

Such a warm, positive outlook. A pleasure to read ~ and most likely to be listened to!

May all your dreams and fantasies be realized in your very near future!

I always enjoy these songs from your heart!

I enjoyed this tremendously - pretty much an in-depth look at life too with a lovely ending.  Oh, and best to stay away from rules because we, the readers, might miss out on too much.  Thank you for the music ...

ah, the dreams that youth inspire
and the reality that tempers such inspire

both, different steps of the same dance
