where the wild flowers grow

0 posted 2005-12-21 05:49 PM

Evening falls, a black cloud overhead,
I own the sea, creeping waves across my body
we are one, water is my flesh
and i caress the winding, vermicular foam-covered
coast and thrust tridents into the sands of
summer-long kisses.

My ravens descend
gathering the warriors of the North,
Valhalla, oh Valhalla.
The black wisps feathered and
blood tinged, they are mine,
they perished with courage and strength
my fallen Viking corpses lie
and still
the bellowing fire within them burns,
they are mine, I
collect my fallen warriors.
Battle! Battle! I call them in
so that they soon may live again

to rule my empire
take the salt from the days and maritime nights
great as lions, my sovereign beasts.

And they will rise from dead fathers, from the
matrix of their mothers with as many eyes
as the tempest
and their throbbing will crush defeat from bones
their throbbing, will slaughter death alone.

I invite you to
acquire galaxies of knowledge,
as I spin Saturn's rings
as if they were merely my halos..

I wish you to know
the lunar maps, the
incandescent star grids,
space and time
boundless and without reprehension.
You must understand now,
that I own the meteors, the
planets and their moons,
the comets and
the wishes they consume...

in the height of ages that cruise
in secret like a giant sea. Beware!
Beware Fimbulvetr
the “mother” of all winters

he will send you three

with three green heads and three
green tongues, one after the other
he will devour the sun

and Hati? will eat the moon

O Sirona, how your stars will vanish
how they will plunge into the sea, and the sea
will rise and twisting and writhe with fury
making way for Ragnarok.

And so Loki is freed by
the shaking Earth, and the rust red bird
will raise the dead... Dead skin ships
carry fire giants to our world to
fight
the last battle.

Jörmungandr, the poisonous
sea serpent, destroyed by Thor
and Thor destroyed by Jörmungandr's
deadly venom, we
will seek
hopeless shelter.. our destruction
is in the writings.

Oh, the Midgard serpent
will coat our Earth and sky in poison..

Our nature,
our forgotten gods will cease to be.
One man
one woman
will be the ashes left.
