Mountain Spirits The voice of singing mountain stream While filling me with thoughts serene And tumbling down its rocky path Tells little of the ancient wrath A time when glaciers filled this land To burn the earth with scaring brand And flatten mountains in its wake As rivers fled before its quake Mountain spirits remember still Shed tears in streams that run downhill To scream their torment in the spring When waking from dreams winter bring I sit in mountain forest green Caressed by crystal running stream Sensing spirits surrounding me Sharing visions that I might see Karen Mc Neil-Tomayer |
