Christmas today is not as it should be
it's become about getting
instead of giving
people are obsessed with with gifts,
fancy lights and more
this is not what Christmas is about

Christmas is about the virgin birth of Jesus Christ
the son of God and our saviour
He came to earth to suffer torment and death
He loved us so much he died to save our souls

We have to be willing to do the same for others
to love each other enough to be willing to give up our lives to help each other
this is the true meaning of christmas
to love each other and to lend a helping hand to someone in need no matter what the cost wihout any thought of getting something in return
this is what Christmas is about

Merry Christmas to all and to all a happy new year

-may the force be with you in poetry

came to suffer and die for us. hard to swallow that one. he suffered yes and he was killed, yes. we only know what was written, but look deep inside. and all around, in the soul, the spirit,  he came and tried to end suffering, and pain, bring peace, love, understanding, without control or power. ones with power feared him, he was killed, does not matter why now, what matters is that forgiveness of anothers wrong. no matter what it was. and dont do same mistake. but some learn wrong and some learn responsibility and mature. its all about peace and love  and giving and sharing and working together for a universal love and life. giving and respect of all earthly creatures and earth. people of all races, dominations. of all life. under one god, one creator. life isnt about riches and having it all.  material is not self worth. unfortunitly most believe that. it comes from withing, and giving of self. not dollars and sents. and materialistic property.  family and friend  greatest gifts. as love peace and forgivness  love all forgive all  for we have all sinned and have all been sinned against.  god is about love   not hate nor envy  thats the devil

Merry Christmas to you, Sharksbean.  Yes, so many get caught up in the frill of it all.  It is important that we share the true meaning.   ....jo

~ Indeed, that is part of the spirit of Christmas!

May yours be glorious one to remember and may the coming new year be a joyous one!

"Christmas is about the virgin birth of Jesus Christ"

Well....depends on what you believe, wouldn't you say?

Christmas to me, is a time to be grateful for what we have, to give to others and to be with friends and family.

  I did enjoy the poem.

"too bad ignorance isn't painful"
