Dreamers in the daylight hours close eyes as if to pray but of prayer it goes a-wandering over hills and dales like searchers for the truth look to find the shade in the garden of soul. The blooms are there of roses, me, but the honey bees appear to suck from in the goodness out and leave a false veneer. In a corner by the garden wall laid brick upon each brick a sapling from the mother tree branches out to foreign tricks and learns the art of hiding fear till hope a dry and brittle stick drops haphazardly to ground. Night falls like a snake attacks to lay a body low and throb within the temples the pain of how to grow. Day to night the dreamers know the blooms and fools all die but gardens birth and rebirth for the sake of that simpleton, life twisting and turning, moulding, re-moulding, the most pliable human mind … and the snake merely grins a so wicked grin! "The blooms are there of roses, me, but the honey bees appear to suck from in the goodness out and leave a false veneer." Oh, I like that..and also the rest of the poem..... I very much like poetry that connects the human spirit, by metaphor and simile, to physical, natural subjects..If that line exists at all, It is extremely fine...I easily cross it everyday of my life... Thank you for this fine read this morning,Honey-B... _____________ice ><> |

Dear ice, there is such a strong and sturdy line between all things living that it would astound us all. They speak, you know, those natural things like trees and roses, me, but most times we cannot hear and maybe aren't meant to. Be that as it may, I still listen and like you cross the line. Thank you so much for the read. Take care - lines can trip one up. Helen |

Thank you M, Hope, and LeeJ for the read. Oh, and LeeJ - One so very perceptive lady should know I don't take sugar ... in tea but the sugar of insight you so profoundly display on these blue pages like an addiction and I'm addicted. Sadly I don't know anything - just feel things and we know how unreliable that can be. But put the kettle on! |

Thanks, Jo. Perhaps peace comes with the knowing of repeating cycles but I'm still waiting. Linda - sorry for not acknowledging your comment - life has a way of sidetracking one from the ... good and meaningful. |

Beautiful, Honeybunch. I hope James reads this as it was very calming after his heart-wrenching poem about his mother's death. In fact, as he probably isn't in to reading much of his own accord today, I am going to go back to his poem and suggest that he reads yours. - Owl |

Thank you, Diana. The journey from turmoil to calm isn't an easy one. I sometimes have to read my own "stuff" to remind myself. If this can be of help to James at this time, then I've done a little good out there and that's always a wonderful reward. |
