Landing

where we are meant
to be

leads us to places
we never knew

existed.

I no longer wonder
what compelled Kerouac
to journey,
or what caused Dylan to spit lyrics,
standing in second hand boots.

I know it must have been the same "urge"
that prompted Michelangelo to shape the Virgin
cradling her dying son.

The same fusion
which processed intricate thought
to simplicity
in the mind of daVinci.

I read Ginsberg as he wept for sanity.

Such philosophers
are scarce
or rather, in hiding.

They are the insightful ones.

For the mind of man
can only encompass

so much

before it shuts its sight.

A great mind
finds beauty
and within that glory
lies pain.

Jesus knew.

He saw everything
as it was meant to be

then turned his head

once

to see the world

how it IS.

Ahh Sue.  Like Midnitesun, you seem to express what others do not see or do not mention.  Always good to read you, Sue.  Ken

And like Picasso, with a few deft lines, you capture the essence of your perspective, and allow us to see ourselves in your thoughts.

Beautiful work, susie.

Sue

"I no longer wonder
what compelled Kerouac
to journey,
or what caused Dylan to spit lyrics,
standing in second hand boots."

That is plain to see in this poem...
The same green fuse that drove Dylan Thomas's flower, is what drove you to write this poem ...It is the hands that are smaller than rain, that ee spoke of, that have guided yours to pen such beauty..

"Jesus knew.

He saw everything
as it was meant to be

then turned his head

once

to see the world

how it IS."

And now we must look through his eyes, turn away from the "is"
or we all will perish...

An very fine read...thank you

You guys are way too good to me and I miss you all.

Ken, *smile*  If I had half the heart of Kacy, I would be most grateful, but thank you.

Brad?  I will not get better, I am saying the same stuff over and over again . . . LOL

K?  Picasso?  Holy moly, gimme some of what you are snacking on . . . (thank you) and you think I do that?  Make people see themselves?  Wow, that is a huge compliment and thank you, I miss you so much.

Hey Maree, I have missed you too . . . it is cold here . . . need some of your seashores on this East Coast, ma'am.

Hey baby . . . Karenity is eating delirious food, *laughing*  --> Picasso, but man, I sure wish . . . and some day I will see it . . . that Pieta . . . I have to.  Lots of places I need to see.

Raph?  I am from Buffalo, that IS eloquent!  Thank you and I am so happy you liked.  Need me some new thoughts though.  You know?  I know you do . . .

Thank you Honeybunch, geez, I do not read you as often as I would like to, I do apologize for that.

aww now James, that was very sweet and thank you.  If I help you to see something, then that means I have done my job.  Much love right back to you and its cold already *brrr*

Michele, thank you - that means a lot to me, you know how much I wish I actually were one of those that DID wake up the sleeping minds, Jersey style . . .

Hey Kris, actually, no I never know what I am going to say - it just pops out, but thank you.

Susan - *smile* GOOD . .  it should and you are another I do not read as often as I should.  I do apologize for that, your writing is amazing.

Thank you Nancy, you are always so good to me.

aww Donna, you know we share the same frustrations most of the time . . . I appreciate what you said to me and am honored, thank you.

Kacy?  You KNOW that made sense . . . every word of it and thank you . . . like Vincent -holy (badword) you guys are smokin' some good . . . wheat.

Julia?  Words are just that - words, I need maybe just a part of your spirit and then I will be just fine, but thank you.

*smile*  Thomas . . . yes . . . indeed
Ford, you are much too good to me in your replies . . . I glean from those that made a path . . . hoping to make another.  And yes, you are correct there, you took that negative at the end and turned it into a positive.  Thank you.

Thanks everyone for reading . . . truly.

What a wonderful wave of peace blows over me reading this magnificent work of art, realising how we are all connected through our love of beauty and truth!

It reminds me of:

Dedication

As one who, walking in the twilight gloom,
Hears round about him, voices as it darkens,
And seeing not the forms from which they come,
Pauses from time to time and turns and hearkens;
So walking here in the twilight, O my friends,
I hear your voices, softened by the distance,
And pause and turn to listen, as each sends
His words of friendship, comfort and assistance.
If any thought of mine, or sung or told,
Has ever given delight or consolation,
Ye have repaid me back a thousand fold,
By every friendly sign or salutation.
Thanks for the sympathies that he have shown!
Thanks for each kindly word, each silent token,
That teaches me, when seeming most alone,
Friends are around us, though no word be spoken.
Kind messages that pass from land to land,
Kind letters that betray the heart's deep history,
In which we feel the pressure of a hand -
One touch of fire - and all the rest is mystery!
The pleasant books, that silently among
Our household treasures take familiar places,
And are to us as if a living tongue
Spake from the printed leaves or pictured faces!
Perhaps on earth I never shall behold,
With eye of sense, your outward form and semblance;
Therefore to me ye never will grow old,
But live forever young in my remembrance.
Never grow old, nor change, nor pass away!
Your gentle voices will flow on for ever,
When life grows bare and tarnished with decay,
As through a leafless landscape flows a river.
Not chance of birth or place has made us friends,
Being oftentimes of different tongues and nations,
But the endeavour for the selfsame ends,
With the same hopes and fears and aspirations.
Therefore I hope to join your seaside walk,
Saddened and mostly silent, with emotion;
Not interrupting with intrusive talk
The grand majestic symphonies of ocean.
Therefore I hope, as no unwelcome guest,
At your warm fireside, when the lamps are lighted,
To have my place reserved among the rest,
Nor stand as one unsought and uninvited.

- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

You probably know it, but a good poem is always enjoyed more, each time one reads it.

Thank you Gem . . . shinin' for me always.

Linda?  Now you have me on a quest ---> Hahlbohm . . . thank you

Ken, you are so sweet . . . aww we all gather from another, don't we?

Vicky? m'dear . . . thank you for that.

Owl?  My new feathered friend, THAT was beyond amazing and to have that on a post of mine is far beyond anything I could hope for - you have a huge heart and a spirit that is unconditional . . . always keep that - its quite beautiful.

Thank you everyone.  Many smiles this morning.
