Forever In Your Heart

There I was, same old story,
rushing to buy things, for
other people, who didn't need
nor want them,

Sometimes I see the whole thing,
ridiculous, buying for people,
who are already blessed to have,
why should THEY get MORE?

Anyway, in the middle of all
the stress, the hustle and bustle,
I was looking for Christmas lights,
In the Christmas section of the store,

Its fun and happy to look at all
the new decorations, as the Christmas
music is playing,Christmas was feeling
the same as any other day,

Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas,
I love giving, the love, friends and
family, the romance of it all,
But to FEEL Christmas is what I desired,

There next to the lights,
an angel tree, I looked at all
the names, one by one, their ages,
I couldn't stop, tears were rolling,
streaming down my cheeks,

Knowing the kind of Christmas these
children would be having, while I
am blessed with so much,

Every name was precious to me,
every wish to Santa, how I wished,
I had a million dollars, I would
be their santa, giving to all of
them, making their wishes come true,

There was one card, that had fallen,
down inside the tree, I thought ,
no one would see it, and this child
would be left out,

It was meant for me to get her name,
ASHLEY, seven years old, tears came
once again, I remember when I was seven,
a little girl with the same big wishes,

but there were no angel trees then,
only used toys to choose from, I was
happy with that, knowing someone cared,
now it was my turn to give that same love
back that was given to me years ago,

ASHLEY, I took her card, began filling
her list, and then some, I had always
wanted a daughter, now I get to buy for one,

Christmas was filling my heart, the joy,
the happiness of giving, love was pouring out,
I could feel the true spirit,

She loves Dora The Explorer, so I wrapped
all of her goodies in paper with Dora,
and I am yet to deliver them, I can imagine
the smile, the happiness on her face,
as I was wrapping them,

Someday she will know that someone out
there cared for her, someone gave her
love, and she will give love to another
child on an angel tree, that is the
true gift that keeps on giving,

Christmas is giving, giving with love,
I found Christmas at Wal-mart,
it wasn't wrapped with ribbons or bows,
it was the angel tree,

The angel tree blesses both, the giver,
and the receiver, so many pass it by,
depriving themselves of a gift,
Don't deprive yourself, pick a name,

I wasn't the angel,
the angel was the TREE itself,
giving me a chance to give,
Making my dream come true,
to be Mrs. Santa,
and to FEEL Christmas,

For what Christmas was really
meant to be....To Give! To LOVE!

"May You feel the realness of Christmas inside your heart, for Christmas and for Christmas's to come"

Thank you Ctowen~that was sweet of you to say so,
We could all be angels if we just open up our hearts to give love!

Have a Merry Christmas!

Thank you Susan,

you are a kind person to say so, I just wished all the children would have a great Christmas, it is the season of magic and love.

I loved the movie "Polar Express" I cried while watching it.
And a "Merry Christmas" to You and yours!

And the spirit of Christmas is in the giving...
and you romantic heart shall be rewarded tenfold.
You have made one little girl very very happy.
And put tears in the eyes of child inside of me.
Heart hugs~Nancy
