November Thoughts November calls the heart back home To warmth and pumpkin pie The geese have left this winter dome To find a bluer sky But I just want a warmer bed A nice thick quilt of down With feathers from the goose who fled The bleaker side of town Will I prefer this icy cage To life’s most southern shore? Would I not fly this frigid stage, To walk through summer’s door? No, no not I I will not fly No matter what the winter sky Some think just like a feathered bird The season is to be That winter makes us prisoner And spring time sets us free But I, when faced with coming storms I live a rabbit’s whim I find a hollow soft and warm And safely burrow in In ice, the soul will always thrive The mind will stay apart And love is love, and will survive The seasons of the heart I will not fly I’ll stay alive My heart is strong and will survive Elizabeth Santos |

Hunkering down here... There's a nice warm burrow waiting to be occupied for sure. Thanks for your wondrous wisdom, dear lady... |
