 Numb ~ Linda L. Dowd ~ Stark trees are naked and skeletal, Dull skies are as gray as forged steel. Fall colors have drained from the landscape, I am numb and can no longer feel. A cold chill has invaded my essence, Since the warmth of his love has gone. I am lost, and saddened, and listless. I am pale, and haggard, and drawn. Gone are the nights of sweet passion, Gone are the reveling days. Gone are the bonds of deep friendship, Gone are his warm, loving ways. Memories of our years together, Bring tears and sadden my heart. I long for his arms to encircle me. ~How did our love fall apart? The ache in my core and my spirit, ~It drains all the strength from me. I’m adrift in a sea of sad sorrow, And losing all my dignity. (big angel hugs) Oh Linda, I can relate to this feeling ever so much (not right now, as I'm very hopeful and upbeat about life and simply just coping with desires actively) and I am sooooooo happy this isn't how you're feeling right now, dearest friend!
