Another cold, cold morning,
sitting in the wait.
An after day of thoughts in think,
in contemplative state.

An ambulance across the street.
(Empty when passing by).
Another friend in loneliness
as family leaves to fly.

This aging thing, I'm thankful for
(alternative is worse).
But no one knows the sadness felt
these words thought out in verse.

Grown up children moving out,
with their children, distance bound.
Separations, left behind
in emptiness surround.

I miss the laughter, even tears
of voices in their play.
The story telling, forever hugs,
the touching, noise and fray.

It's times like this when alone's too much.
The allure of people calls.
My someday wishes rise in feel
then mood swings put up walls...

Protecting from the outside hurt
that seeps below the skin.
Another cold, cold morning
I'm masking deep within.

You express these feelings very well here Maureen.  Thought I would hang out with you a bit and keep you company.
