Tis the Reason The tears in my eyes a manifestation of all the years feeling empty from a source of false love A source that runs freely from a mouth that speaks with a forked tongue and smiling to boot while giving neither rhythm nor reason Just the season to pretend all is fine and dandy when we both know it is sour candy but for reputations sake harmony and happiness play on our face Smiles that conceal anger build on the fears of distrust the love for two sons were in my life before you my wife I might be acting out of drama in this write but I know that I am right we find a common ground or I will not be around My feet will find the path back to being a Dad not this hollow shell so sad “oh well maybe till next time” All the while you stand and smile with guile, you play an innocent hard working Step-parent They are not angels this is known well but I know they are not demons from hell so end your biblical sermon With or without you I will be their Dad now and always without a doubt so jump in or let me jump out. |

I know how much you love your two sons from a previous poem that you wrote. That poem was very moving ~ as is this one, but in a much different way. These must be very trying times for you on every front, but when things are not going well on the home front, it affects all aspects of our life. I felt the raw emotion with which this was apparently written. I pray that love, peace, and harmony will prevail. God bless you, Tom! Linda ![]() |
