First Love I could not imagine anyone who would not love him yet, I was certain noone could love him more. He said he loved me too. One summer day, at end, he called me, I heard his tears I ran all the way to his house When he opened the door, I could see through the screen his smile was a prelude, a gester, extended to me, awkwardly: until he found the courage to say her name. Numbly, I walked back to my parents house I wrote him a letter I promised to never forget him I have kept my promise, thru the years with other affections Love is a season, a time of the heart It aches, It breaks and it tears us apart We live in the light of the other til the light becomes a flickering ember burning thru all times, we won't forget to remember Love is something we give and life without love is no life to live! |
