I know I have been writing about some pretty harsh things, but I will let you know that it is a huge part of whom I am. Though this world is not all pain all the time. After my last poem I felt the need to give you all a little happiness. I awake to a picture that God could only have taken My eyes begin to focus to the sudden exposure The sun peaks over the horizon as if to tell me that I am alive People begin to hit the streets their feet can be heard from my window Yet they cause no agitation to my being The ambient light the sun provides gives me enough of a reason to shed my covers In the background my Bob Marley cd still plays endlessly I can feel the perfect balance of sun and clouds hovering in the air As I reach my bathroom it is time for my close up I begin to create the composition that is me to the outside world I slide on my clothing the perfect contrast of peace and harmony The sun begins to finally rise as if someone flicked on the light in the world’s darkroom Like a spotlight it shows us the definition of the planet My eyes pan my environment noticing a bird whistling the gospel of peace I am glad that my attitude is positive For if it was negative I might not be able to print the beauty of this world As I step out of my door a shudder occurs The wind like her brother the sun telling me that life is in my grasp As I begin my stroll to work I leave you with my picture of perfection Tomorrow comes for those who fear it. Today never ends for those who live it. |
