Red tree watches over from cradle to grave; in the shadow of her leaves, children come and pray, the sky fans open, as she shivers, nude, of her splendid finery, from spring's cloak of foliage, to her winter frame, red tree sad tree beautiful tree, hearing the childrens songs, until the piper's call, the distant notes of storybook times; echoing, in the cry of rain. *******going back to the old neighborhood, seeing the same dear old 'red tree' in the yard where my 2 newborn babies were brought home, 20plus years ago******** [This message has been edited by inkedgoddess (11-17-2005 09:08 PM).] |

Nice poem. I most liked this part- "the sky fans open, as she shivers, nude, of her splendid finery, from spring's cloak of foliage, to her winter frame," Lots of luck, bgj |

I can so relate to twenty years ago, and find comfort in your poem, that the same tree is still standing there. We can't ever go back but we can visit now and then, and take heart in a brand new life. bittersweet this is~ *sob* |
