The mirror peers back; two icy floes adrift
Conceal too well what simmers in the deep;
This frosty veil a shield I dare not lift,
Though heart so dreads a cryogenic sleep...
Vesuvius! Unleash your brutal force
And spew your magma thru my gelid veins!
I resolute await your chosen course
At arches of Pompeii — so burn the chains
That bind my soul to perpetual frost --
But the mirror keeps no tally of my plight;
In its impassive face I become lost,
While within my soul courses inward fight:
To naked welcome passion’s fiery doom --
Or seal the heart in frigid, icy tomb...

Now - while the leaves still dance on the wind
While the moon and the clouds come spinning
Will you whisper my name again?
Again...and again...
