Today an acorn spoke to me, As I passed beneath oak tree, “Watch out below,” I heard it yell, I looked up and then it fell. That acorn landed on my head, I should have heeded what it said, But I didn’t, so kerplunk, Off my noggin, then hit the trunk. Then it bounced right off that tree, Down to the ground right next to me, Then the acorn up and said, "I’m so sorry I konked your head, But I’ve a favor, Tim, help me please, There’s devil squirrels up in the trees, They want to bury me alive, Underground, that ain’t no jive, And keep me there all winter through, Beneath the snow, that just won’t do," I bent down, with aching head, Picked up the acorn, and I said, “I’ll protect you from devil squirrels Even though they and I’ve no quarrels, And I’ll protect you from cold weather, Because us nuts, need to stick together. |

Tim Thanks again for the smile you so often bring. Now, what will the squirrels eat this winter? |
