Words often forsake me, when I tumble from mountian high, into a valley of shadow's, where eagles cannot fly. Where the woeful cries of the oppressed of men, echo from every grain of sand. Yes,...it's here in this valley of shadow's, I must make my stand. Nevermore will I scale flower strewn mountian of fantasy, to pretend I do not hear their cries, nor their afflictions I do not see. I choose this arduous land of black and white, where tears flow more freely than pink chablis on Fantasia's height. Because my friend,...if I will not see I cannot defend,... poor Lazarus lying at the gates, nor his wounds I cannot tend. I know it's a lonely choice I make, it's hard to face whats real. It's so much eaiser to choose whats fake, than their pain is to feel. To smash rose colored glasses, upon the bones of reality, is most unpopular in this me, me, society. So in my strength, though it be small, is so much more than some others. So in what I have, all in all, let me defend,... the weak, the hopeless, the forgotten, ...for they too are my brothers. Although the world is full of suffering , it is also full of the over coming of it. Helen Keller [This message has been edited by StevenS (11-14-2005 07:49 AM).] |

Thank you Dear Marge, I read a story this morning at blondesense.com about a boy who was murdered. It made realize that I'm not the only one who faces the things I do. That I can do something to change the way things are done in this world. Instead of excepting defeat. I can rise up in rightous anger demanding true justice for my son and all those that socity has swept under the rug of unfair laws with no recourse for the victims. |

Hi Steve "Words often forsake me, when I tumble from mountian high, into a valley of shadow's, where eagles cannot fly." I'm glad they have not forsaken you now, with this show of strength of spirit in poetry. |

Out of many, one.....something to be truly thankful for today....and thankful too that some of us still can be brothers, whether we know it or not. ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |
