Up out of the dark dankness she glooms and looms before your opened eye. You hear her cry, but cannot move to reply, for you are frozen... stuck inside a block of solidified thoughts, unable to round out the surrounding imagery and accept it for what it is... your own reflection in life’s lake, the one you skimmed over so casually last year, not anticipating all would eventually fall and the whipping winds of winter would bring colder days than those familiar arctic nights. She glooms at you anyway, whether you heed her or not she follows you relentlessly down that precariously meandering pathway begging you to stop, look and FEEL the warmth that resides within the cold. And in that moment of recognize, your eyes open wide and you see the winter of self... and somehow you find you can accept the warmth that remains. |

If you're expecting a pithy quip, or a joke, I am going to disappoint you Kace. Congratulations! You just shut off the "joke machine" in me and all I can do is smile and type: "Beautiful." |
