she knows her life like a book.

her feet hit the pavement like bricks
as her thoughts fly through the air
to not cry over something lost
is to deny she is human
because without the tears that always fall
there would be no regret
there would be no control
and loss of control
she could never handle.

she knows her life like a book
read too many times
but this time..
this one time
she reads the book with virgin eyes
and wonders how she's survived
everything that makes humanity terrible
makes the world terrible
flows through her veins
she wishes she could tear out her heart,
if only to stop corruption.

but
it wasn't the world
that made her words flow
like water from a leaky faucet
it was her animosity towards herself
that moved her hand.

she was never good enough
for herself

this is a powerful write that grabs the heart....poetry indeed!

I keep a fragrance bottle my
muse gave me when I met him
in endless winter and he
settled me into remembering
who I am.

A touching write here! It's so sad that we are never good enough for ourselves until - well, until we know that we are and that sometimes can take a lifetime or two.

Wow! I have missed many of your (and other poets) great writes. This one really struck me. It was powerful, and heartwrenching. I saw strength and vulnerability clearly conveyed. It was very well structured, sound, and fluid. You have grown so much over the time that I have read your poetry. You have such talent and your poems are always so full of passion and emotion.
