By November, North Is free of tender vegetables, Everything is stained a mineral gray- Hosta's have faded, frosted-glass- Translucent, birds, except For chick-a-dees Are funeral quiet.....Geese rose from the pond this eve, The lead one following Ancient maps printed on its brain- Glyphs and pictographs On mine still etched, Though I'm at loss to read; Silently their shadows path, Across the*"moon of falling leaves". Exits raise a sense of loss, More like thirst, than sad- ness or regret-perhaps Because I know all things I love Must go, must fly, must change... But void is part of beauties cost, I know that I must sometimes pay. In twilights transition Things regain focus, After the going of hosta's, And Geese-gazing star-ward I see Venus rising, fresh From hiding behind summers sun; Beauty has taken its proper place, As winters, evening star; My vessel refilled, I am sate. (*"moon of falling leaves" Novembers moon- quote-Black Elk, from "Black Elk Speaks") |

Silently their shadows path, Across the*"moon of falling leaves". I felt an almost magik in these words, a feeling difficult to explain, but most enjoy, bittersweet freshness in understanding the full moon of November, the winter chill sacred & needed in one's seclusion, one's great moment with nature ****************** Exits raise a sense of loss, More like thirst, than sad- ness or regret-perhaps Because I know all things I love Must go, must fly, must change... *********************************** and it is in that moment one is rewarded with great feelings of what truly is and must be...allowance in it's most valuable time and space....that is the reward _______________________________ But void is part of beauties cost, I know that I must sometimes pay. and voice can be beautiful to....when put in reality's perspective ******************************** In twilights transition Things regain focus, After the going of hosta's, And Geese-gazing star-ward I see Venus rising, fresh From hiding behind summers sun; Beauty has taken its proper place, As winters, evening star; You have been given a portrait in your own being, a oneness with self which goes beyond human feelings...sense, a sense of her touch in you, the woman in you...your own feminan side...of nature, you have touched her, incredibly... ************************ profound writing, teaching and understanding sir... |

Ford, truly one of your best. This reaches deep into the core and one can tell it was written from a very special place. Kudo's my friend. You have penned a live for today, |

I have always maintained it's the silence before a musical note that makes it more poignant to the ear. You understand this m'friend. You, Black Elk, and the classical composers. Love ya, ford. The void can be as awe inspiring as chaos, if not more so... |

Loved this, Ford! I heard a gentle tune in the background as I read (one of my favorite songs), "Who Knows Where Time Goes" - Judy Collins. It seemed fitting. .....jo |

(smiles) This is a beautifully bittersweet portrayal of November, dearest friend, I admit it's not one of my favorite months as indeed the trees are bare and birds aren't singing as many songs and I welcome most of all the first flush of spring, but I believe every season has a reason and God is just trying to test us and make us believe it won't be November forever and if we can make the most and make cheer in the months with the most void, we're bound to find inner-peace! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ford, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other" |
