The rain pours down but it does not cleanse the scar left by the storm Broken homes and lives surrounded by the sadness that reminds us of yesterdays pain Each day is better then the last but it is not the best that it has been The rain is a reminder that somethings man can not control and we accept that for now Sorry this is not an upbeat poem but between the insurance companies and FEMA it is hard to always smile. |

Thomas...I wish some sun for you, to dry up all those harsh memories. To write the pain of rain is good for you....in California I have often written the pain of drought. |

Many are perhaps experiencing deep deep feelings they'd never known existed in the wake of that turmoil. It's good to write about them as well as good for us who aren't there to read and relate. Prayers for the well being of everyone laboring through this troubled aftermath are said in eaarnest. Thanks for sharing this. Rae |

it doesn't cleanse the scars but it cleanses our soul when we realize what a gift it could be even in times like this. All the people here...with no homes...still living in tents...or simply with damage to their houses...I feel bad for them when it rains...but I can't help appreciate the peacefulness and the beauty of it either. Sad poem...but a good poem. "I want to heal, I want to feel, like I'm close to something real" |

Thomas, if we could have found a way to push some of that water to where the droughts are! Dang, but we humans really are the weaker warriors when it comes to controlling those weather beasts. Now, you do know that it's perfectly OK to get angry, to be sad, to NOT smile every day? It amazes me you can offer ANY smiles, cyber or 3D, considering what you are experiencing. Hugs, and wanting to know who I can send some good quality used clothes and shoes, maybe some stuffed animals to? Have you got a couple of families that might benefit/accept some good used items? A wish list you can share? I'd like to be able to offer at least one new item for someone for a holiday gift. I only work part time and unfortunately my wages keep me in the federal poverty zone, but since I do have a place to live, food, and a job....I consider myself 'rich' right now. Feel free to email me with an addy and some info when you can. Hugs, Kacy |

I understand, the rain in this context brings further melancholy. You say it with all your heart, dear Thomas. May healing occur on every level. Love, Margherita [This message has been edited by Margherita (11-08-2005 07:53 AM).] |
