Crumbled petals scattered north
Abandoned swing upon a porch
Within an empty window's stare
No one there, no one there

Forgotten notes in sing-song rhyme
A steady beat but lost in time
Paired hearts tied with gossamer lace
Rests in some forsaken place

In some forsaken place they die
If not for ryhme then there go I
So pen in hand, lost love's lament
'pon papyrus dry one's true intent

Melodies play o'er long lost hills
To twist inside the bitter still
Born of womb, yet far too soon
Exhaled aloft sweet crescent moon

(big angel hugs) This is sooooooo beautiful and the imagery soooooo soulful, sweet friend, every old, abandoned house indeed has such a story that longs to be heard and so many stories of legendary love or lost love within each home always feels to me like millions of romance novels and dramas waiting to happen! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, I love this, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

"If not for ryhme then there go I"

smile

This rhyme thing? Even in free verse, I can't seem to help it.

it's like that empty porch swing creaking rhythm in the wind--I hear music everywhere.

Love to ya teirs...

this was elegant m'love. and tight too. Not easily accomplished but you have finesse.

'pon papyrus dry one's true intent

~*~

my love of pen to ink
drew me to perform an act of...
respect
when it came to a grade school project
to study, explore, and write about
something that still had use
in today's world, some 4o+ years ago....

I looked back on antiquity,
and decided to write of how paper
came to be....

all the way back to papyrus...

Thank you, Tier....

for bringing back to me
this fond memory.

This, most worthy
of a bump back up...
simply because 'tis the season
to jot down our notes to
loved ones, family and friends...

and this particular poem,
brings to me the thought
of leaving only our best behind...

hugging you for this, Tier...

Reel me in, why don't you!? Wow...I like the "No one there, no one there"...repetition, it is used so well here.
