why does this happen?

you turn to find the answer
but the opera does not sing to you
and the ferry does not blow its horn
and the cats?
sail on by

you search within her sails

O but how her precious lids
conceal them
and you do not know
if the tree-tops will catch you

there in the background
in reflection

drove me like a magnet
to the sea

It seems to me that the answer may be, that it is not the answer that is as important, as the search. What do you think?
