A glance askance reminded me Of what shall never, ever be Once autumn’s leaves fell from the trees My heart and soul fell on bended knees And it wasn’t easy to walk away, In spite of what I might have said. For when I walked away that November day I went into the cold; now love lies dead. Yesterday I strolled along a still solo trail, Let my feelings release from a self-imposed jail. Today I flipped the calendar to my month of renew, Found it easier to face the sunshine, without you. |

The trails you walked were soft sometimes where you felt no pain afoot recalled perhaps in colored rhymes to memories they've been put November days come cold at times when the northern sun's dipped low and wish you might for warmer climes you're caught in life's undertow Let's hope a trail will intersect with another's lonely way to then lead on with great effect for you on a fresh new day glider |

The fall/spring effect! No, really, Kacy, as I read this...I remembered my first love. Puppy love really...but it was so special, and it happened on an autumn day while we were under a walnut tree picking up the nuts....my first real kiss. (Maybe that is why I always have a longing in my heart when I smell the scent of autumn.) By spring, it was ended...and life went on. Bitter/sweet memory. .....jo |

What an insightful self-portrait of a lost love. This is a different mood for you, but very well done. Ken Through rubble and trouble and dark of night |

Some things can shadow our lives only so long... I'm glad you're back in your own beam of sunshine... |
