MOTHER I'm going home It's been too long Gathering thoughts For defense Last time we spoke It was the end of July When your mother died The funeral was nice It was a sunny day People spoke, and we Nodded and smiled Carefully, respectfully You were sad, your eyes told no lie And I Couldn't bring myself to feel Anything at all Couldn't bring myself to say All the right things I should have said Many suns have set since And we've reached the end of another year With a heavy heart I sit on this bed Somewhere, far from home My suitcase all done And waiting For me to get up As soon as my shivering legs Will bear this I wonder if you've been sleeping well I wonder if you still love me I wonder if you've cried for me I wonder if you've prayed for me I wonder if you speak of me I don't wonder if you're proud of me But I wonder if you'll ever be I've forgot how it feels Coming home The white out snow Has wiped out Misspelled summer I'm coming home [This message has been edited by Broken (12-19-2005 11:58 PM).] |

Espen~ I felt the swell of poignant emotion surge through this entire piece~ You make it so real~ I felt that this was the lead-in to a black and white movie~ That's pretty powerful !! So sad ... and yet so very real~ *Huglets* ![]() ~*Marge*~ ~*No matter what I search for ... |

Knowing this all too well: I don't wonder if you're proud of me But I wonder if you'll ever be ![]() a most endearing, bittersweet write. |
