For years I have found myself living- Behind a most complex facade. Concerned more with getting than giving, Not caring on whose heart I trod. I'm taking time now to consider- To delve for just who I might be... For only in truth is there freedom, And now I desire to be free. I've learned to appreciate beauty- No matter just where it be found. The wilds of the canyons and deserts, Or the blossoms which cover the ground. The unselfish nature of friendship- A commodity getting more rare. That a book can't be judged by it's cover, Nor a heart by a face fine and fair. I often wish I were an artist, With a flair for acrylic and oil- That I might record all my travels Before I am one with the soil. |
