Today a little part of me awakened from its sleep
Something that had slowly gone that I forgot to keep
I didn’t know that it was lost until it did return
And now a fire in my heart with vigour starts to burn

I felt my soul awaken and my life begin to change
Within a spans of little time my world did rearrange
I felt what others could not feel; I saw what they could not
I came to understand my role and purpose I forgot

I think it was the feeling of belonging that I craved
To find those pieces of my life recovered and then saved
I could not understand it, but it made me want to try
To look at understanding and question more the why

The veil of sadness lifted to expose what was asleep
The person who felt love for life that time forgot to keep
And straight away an energy did radiate the room
As God and many angels helped to free me from my tomb

And now each day with empathy I share what I can give
Finding that the hours now are easier to live
And more my smile I’m sharing, just awaiting its return
While finding there’s no barriers when time is made to learn
