There you stood, leaning against the sunlit rock face, soft hands pressed to stone and I only prayed I could be as steadfast, unwavering, unmovable; but then - stone does not weep, nor quake in passion’s thrall... Oh, how transient we are! we vanish, the stone remains — yet the words will forever echo amidst the granite cliffs — “I love you, I love you....” CG |
