when you run through the streets
with your long gown
tearing on the hedges of sand
I smile at how you slip
on the cobblestones
and fall slowly
so I will always have time
to be under you with my arms

you came back this morning
like a tip toe lover
but you honked so I would be ready
and would open the car door
of your pedestrian
and watch you on the stairs
that were built special
just for you to walk down

I smell him on you
my favorite perfume really
you call it a taste
and when you wear it
I know you are hungry
and want to go to the movies
at the blind theatre
but you won't wear gloves this time

I promise to hold your hand
or at least your wrists
and make you do it
til the intermission is over
and the round room spins again
may I hold your tattoos too
while you bathe there
in the sand of our saliva
