Wyntered Thoughts Once Again

Bursts of yesterday, fighting inside.
Mind wars, the clenching of,
aching for the emptiness to be filled.
Being too long weak,
hypnotized by false touch.
Its memories swing me to and fro.

Forcing myself to eat words
cottaged, lumped together
to sustain energy, as the body
thwarts all that's real, wanting,
needing, to purge the truth of you.

The beat has stilled, in darkness,
hearing only the murmurs of a distorted love.
Nothingness growing like a gnarled tree,
replacing the glow, knotting expectations
twisting the fabric of my being.

The cold wynter winds chase away
my coating warmth of thoughts.
Tainted now, the wait is over.
Dreams torn are my shroud,
masking the scars reopened, to bleed,
when wounds are stretched by memories
rising in the sun's watch.

Feelings can't be camouflaged,
presence can't be bought,
writing is my only weapon,
honesty, my calling,
being understood, my downfall.

Fragments of me lie everywhere,
splintering a life once fused by love.
One day I will emerge whole again.
Until then, I reside in shadows,
holding onto my Wyntered thoughts...
once again.
