Last night I dreamt of second grade, A best’est friend, a promise made, Beneath a summer evening sky, Crossed our hearts and hoped to die. Summer was a special time, Games to play and trees to climb, Baseball played in noonday’s heat, Dips in the creek, an ice cream treat. Evening’s fall brought fireflies, Kick the can and star filled skies, Then parents’ shouts, it’s time for bed, And to our homes we both would head. On a summer’s eve last night I slept, In memories of a promise kept |

WOW. I can't really find the right words to descripe how i feel about your poem. It was wonderful. I too think of a promise kept or at least kept till now. |
