Let me introduce myself since I am new to this forum.  My name is Erika Staples and I am a poet in the process of having my first collection of poetry published.  The book is titiled "Piece Of My Soul" and is a collection of over 120 poems with emotions ranging from love, desire, anger, grief and much more.  Please check my website out at

Please sign the guest book, I'd love to hear your input.  the site has a fair sample of my poetry, and is updated often with new poems.

Christmas Morning

It’s Christmas morning and the light shines in
Quickly I rush to her room, to see such a grin.

I kiss her good morning, on her tiny little nose,
And tickle her cute little feet, and precious little toes.

To keep warm, in the early hours, we hold each other close
On this special winter morning, we so eagerly arose.

Rushing quick to peek under the tree,
Our eyes both widen at the sight we see.

Gifts pile high, beneath the tree aglow,
And through the window falls fluffy balls of snow.

A fire is lit, and above each stocking is hung,
And as candy falls out, I hear carols being sung.

Sweet smells fill the room, and I look to see pancakes pilled high
With a breakfast feast on the table, we widen our eyes.

Coffee is brewing, and hot coco too,
And outside we see Santa and his Reindeer, then away they flew.

Bells jingle as they disappear in the distant sky,
And we both wave a cheerful goodbye.

Christmas morning, we share God grace,
And I have could all I couldask for, when looking at her face.
