American Flags wave through contaminated air nevertheless I am uncontaminated as can be. Bursting of the pride that’s come over me American Pride... I quiver inside America... Until this day, A pride hidden, lost among the few tattered souls. Once the blanket of yellow journalism fades, Will we continue this pride? Or will we turn the other cheek. It’s seems as if it’s over now. Now what is this we speak of? This war, these bloody battles we wage our soldiers in. Let’s forget about sharpening our swords, Forgive and move on, make peace with our enemies. No need for revenge, Must we stoop to their level? Begin fighting the wars on our own home front, The homeless down town could use a roof over their heads, and we could be feeding the poor. Our country could be much more. America, it’s beautiful, Each flag waving in the sky proudly. 05-26-2002 12:07 AM |
