I came across a letter I once wrote you, tucked away inside a small box filled with rose petals, now dry and brittle. I will not be selfish enough to send it now, wanting to believe it may give you a little pain. As it is, no one owns this pain but myself. I once thought I could entice you to give up your whole heart. What a crazy notion! For I am quite sure you do not think anything of me, or live as if I ever existed. Still, I wonder if you know that with a step, or the movement of your eyes you could still see straight through my heart. If I recover one ounce of hope it will be of no benefit to me, so long as the petals continue to fade and the pages of a letter, unsent, yellow. |

EA, what a kind thing to say to a guy that struggles to write more than a dozen lines at a time! Hugs, Robert |

Then Struggle Robert, for this poem speaks more of romance and endless love than any Harlequin novel I've ever encountered. May your heart continue to heal with your written words. |

Oh, these moments of heartwrenching melancholy! You have described them very beautifully. May you always take your chance ... and from now on send those letters, which might well induce new roses to bloom! Love, Margherita |

'If I recover one ounce of hope it will be of no benefit to me, so long as the petals continue to fade and the pages of a letter, unsent, yellow." Perfectly powerful ending. "too bad ignorance isn't painful" |
