Hello to all...it has been an extremely long time since I last posted. I honestly thought I would never write a single piece of poetry again due to various reasons...and then inspiration struck me and well, here I am.

Somewhere in the shadows I found the hidden truth
As it beckoned to me, all at once the lies were shattered
The glass lay all around me, I instantly became free
I realized in a split second what you'd given me

A new start, a fresh chance, a life you never had
The tears streamed down my face, mixed with feelings of happy and sad
I closed my eyes and saw your face, much like I did that day
Only this time it didn't hurt near as much, as I wiped the tears away

You are a beautiful angel, I'll never know how I managed to get two
In you though I finally saw the real me, thank you for that too
All the times I thought you were so horrible, for that I deeply apologize
Now that I know the truth, your name I'll never hide

Peace be with you now, your soul is finally free
Now I finally know you're not much different than me
Same smile, same heart, same caution to the wind
Thank you for the truth, my Mother...my friend

If any of you know me and have read my work then you'll know this is about my biological mother, long long story but I found her...and it was both the saddest and happiest moment of my life.

Thanks to all for your replies. I did find my biological mother, a little too late though. She was killed instantly by a truck hitting here and so a very important missed chance happened...BUT I have gained SO much from this experience.

Good morning Amy...

I remember your archived poems and how important it was for you to meet your mother...
I am impressed by your courage and ability to move forward.
