Whisper Her Just One

The sound of air on the roof
crosses six panes of glass into moan
and stirs the leaf
whispering secrets across the patio

They think I can't say
the satin underneath the gay
in the place that was summer
changes spent true
but sent  twirling too
across the autumn grass

I hear them giggle my expense
in only breathing words
to the passing shadow
what does she know they say of flying
or the taste of a tree

We dance not for her poetry
or the cave she has built for love
we are the bite that blinks her view
and opens up the keen unseen

See how she turns her eyes sideways
to cut the glare of our dare
we all danced and ribald with frantic air
she is dense with thought and too soft

Let us fun this sun in her doorway
until she dazzles the page with her loose muse
and makes a leaf treasure on the page of time
whisper her just one sound divine

Its lunchtime, and nothing makes me happier then to see you posted a new poem....

There are many here who this poem emulates, although, in your mind, perhaps your thinking of just one....whomever she is, she couldn't receive a nicer gift.

Your a treasure Martie, truly.

thank you for the lovely masterful read.

Enjoyed!

Ahhh, LeeJ....I am only speaking of myself and my reluctant muse...who is looking out the door at the vibrant day.  Marge/sis...thanks for you!

Ah, Martie, my muse and I have been lingering in the sunlit doorway quite often recently. Love this. hugs, Chris

Well, in my humble opinion, your muse treats you nicely. What a delightful write you have penned. Lots of images for the imagination. I liked it.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

A wonderful poem, Martie.  Talent once there is always there but the trouble is that it operates best in silent moments and what a noisy world we live in.  Beautiful write, Martie.
