It hits me
on nights like these,
nights when the rain plays,
nights for warm lovers
to lay down on cold sheets,
nights when the rain dances a pattern
on the darker side of the window,
and the notes of the navajos
becon the gypsy,
and incense calls up the spirits,
and purring cats siesta on pillows,
and the goddess is free, and renewing herself,
it hits me,
on nights like these,
how i crave for
the touch of the stranger.

the cool Autumn breeze
takes his Lady in hand,
leading the waltz.

She, adorned in ivory lace
hanging from my window,
