(Online) In My Heart
By Larry Chadwick

I logged into my computer
as every day I do
and found myself
unprepared for what
is always there.

It’s just an
Instant Messenger
I use it every day.

But today
it jolted me
with a
reminder
I seldom see.

It said,
“Ginger (offline)”
and I realized
never again
will I see your name
at the top.

And since my email
would only bounce,
I thought
I’d come here and say it
where it’s more likely
to get through.

You know I love you
and miss you
every day.
But know
I honor you
every chance I get
by
thinking of you.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

I understand, Larry.  I have two poets on my IM still on MSN that I just can't bare to delete.  So I don't.  It's good to have that reminder of your dear Ginger.

I know the  feelings Larry...

every day I ask myself if my sister would be proud of how I am doing..or if she would enjoy something I have made...

she will always be with me as will Ginger to you...

You are both totally beautiful and your connection can never be broken.

Not only is she alive in spirit, you keep Ginger alive on these blue pages.

I felt this to my very core.

Sending you lots of Love and Light,
Linda

I was at Bothell High the other day Larry and I care to share this with you. I was picking up my brother and I had like a feeling that kept pushing me to walk back down towards Miss. Chadwick's classroom. I went there and there was a kid in the hall outside her classroom reading the great gatsby and humming blackbird. It gave me shivers but it also brought back so many happy memories of 1st period english. and her smile was imprinted in my eyes.

This poem was really good, and its kind of heart wrenching to think of that and I am glad that I was lucky enough to have been taught by her. She was by far the teacher that stands out to me, because she was able to teach love!

God Bless

Larry,
Finally found a few minutes to rattle my chains around the blue walls and read your response to mine.  Hey, glad to spark a smile.  It's payback time for all the ones you gave me!  Take care, Larry.
