I am teased by a cuddler's thoughts, Though he is more aged than I. Catches me on the walk towards my home, Not wanting a word of good bye. He's dreaming of what it could be If I took him up on his whim. But I can't be like that, not for gifts or the like Though a friend I can be to him. Wondering why I get these requests "Non-sexual", he specified. I thanked him said call if in need for my help On Otherwise, with a wink as I sighed. on the aging...it's interesting to see how others view us at times and the age categories that ensue...but then every moment should have a certain splendour ![]() |

M, Hmmmm. Must confess I am a spooner and find this write intriguing. ![]() If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. |

Well, it's like this Larry ![]() but this elderly gentleman (in his upper 80's maybe 90) stops me when I walk a block from my home either buying a snowball in warm seasons or when returning from the car repair shop without my car (I go there because I know if I have car trouble I can drift downhill to get it there) anyway he keeps tempting me to make my life easier...and I just smile and let it pass... a vacation to Florida sounds good sometimes and he shall be needing a nurse soon when he has his knee replacement (a Union man who says he knows the true value of a nurse and/or a woman)He makes me laugh... thanks for the read... ![]() M |

Maureen It's a sweet feeling to have the attention of someone, and age doesn't matter, neither yours nor his. Enjoyed seeing this piece of your life. ![]() |

M, My wife is a companion to senior citizens. And they travel in that capacity(well, no spooning). Maybe you should rethink this. ![]() If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. |

Seems like this is the first time in months, I've been able to sit down and read. I really like this, Maureen! Sure wish I could budget my time more to read such wonderful poetry. Take care. miscellanea |

This made me smile because I can attest to the fact that ... some things never die but my advice, walk a mile - away! ![]() |

Hmmm. My mother's in her 80's. She lives alone since my Dad died 6 months or so back (maybe more - I don't keep track of "gone time" just the memories I have). She talks about having a companion live with her (even though family is in and out daily)- not a young, vivacious thing like you - but more an older person, and she certainly has many offers. She's totally independent and healthy so doesn't need nursing, but I can understand the companionship aspect. Dated several older women when I was young (guess vivacious would be a stretch here), from 20 to 40 years older and had a couple really wonderful offers that made me think long and hard. Still think long and hard sometimes wondering why I didn't. . . you know, take one of the offers. And still can't answer it. Where am I going with this? Well, I guess nothing matters but what makes you happy...if not happy, comfortable and enjoyable, whether it be as a companion - nurse/companion or whatever, and certainly age is relative to your own ideas, beliefs and needs. So, do I recommend one way or the other... certainly not - I mean, I am still pondering the question myself after all these years! (now that I'm out of breath with all THAT. . . I really did enjoy the read!) jimmy |
