Eating pasta smoking butts sipping leftover wine and doing the afterchat of lovers, laughing and listening, pretending i know what you're talking about as if i could keep up with the brilliant one - hah !!!!!!!! pretending this won't end, pretending life/love/art isn't as fragile as whats happening right before us, surrounding us as we speak; look at them baby! did you see them too? i stopped after 5, couldn't watch them fly off anymore. (counting the falling leaves in your summer garden on an autumn afternoon) |

I always enjoy poetry that mixes grit with satin, this poem is no exception. Grit: smoking butts leftover wine afterchat of lovers Satin: pretending life/love/art counting leaves summer garden autumn afternoon Always these types inspire... Under stare, a pot above fire; Water does not boil But like the last-leaf-left, Clinging... When your back is turned Bubbles transpire and Petioles break away. Life and love and art, All change But always leave behind new use Watched-water meets its end as tea, And empty branch tips leave behind The buds of youth. Loved your poem... -----------ice ><> |
