The day has done it’s best now Making weary the laugh lines left damp In the spray of the river dancers And I am just the sheerest observer Taking in the strum of a teak guitar Watching you, as the crackle of wood Brings the scent of harmony to me And you, less conscious of what I see Your silhouette so perfectly alight by the fire Half poured glasses of Chardonnay sing crystal clear A celebration of a moment I have dreamed redundantly Peacefulness embraces me In a pleasure more intense within it’s own anticipation The ways that you sip silence into victory So crisp the strum of vertical horizons Red and gold submit upon the velvet skin of everlasting Copyright Kkh 09/30/05 |
