Gas Guzzlers and Bankruptcy Stories

Some Americans don't seem like the
smartest people on this planet.
They drive those big gas guzzler
trucks and cars that use twice
as much fuel but don't take
them twice as far.
Still, I'm not such a fool
to think we're short of fuel,
while yet another hurricane
gives the oil companies another
culprit to blame, as to the what
and where and why, the fuel
prices have gone sky high,
causing two more major airlines
to fail, with new bankruptcy
stories to tell.
Got an SUV?
Do us all a favor
and park it...
permanently.

announced they are filing
for bankruptcy...
This last year, airlines paid
approximately 42 per cent
more for fuel.

heres an idea lets all ride bikes to get places from now on or we could just walk

I keep threatening to get a bicycle. The only thing that keeps me from it is that dogs love them-and their riders-for lunch. Good poem.

Thank you Earth Angel, Dragon Mistress, Sharksbear and Pilgrimage for the nice responses.
The good news is that airlines that file for bankruptcy usually reorganize and stay in business...at the expense of the employees, who can lose their wages, retirement or job. (globilization)
The bad news is, Americans are dependent on the automobile and are resistant to other means of transportation...and why walk or run or take a bike when you have wheels.
This is combination with our canned and packaged food and fast foods full of fats, salt and cholestoral and its no wonder that we are fat Americans...I wrote of that subject before...James
