she hums all night

She hums all night long
in her own little private world,
rarely makes eye contact.

But when she does...
you find yourself looking deep within
trying to identify that point of connection.

It’s a simple moment in time,
perhaps not terribly sublime;
but you feel the heart in a beat of respond.

Each in their own way and time touches another,
and no amount of rhyme or reason,
or lack thereof, changes that fact.

Sometimes the briefest elusive touch
can move a mountain of resistance,
to enable the flow of love to go where it must.
