l'oranger contimplation like the nipples on ketchup bottles the squeeze kind of red breasts pining for their acadians pretending their burgers are monday food red like they did the pipes before the bal de maison writhed them smiles in leathered skin milage and fiddle droned ballad boredom your wind spins her hems o' ossun you say the file' will heal your wounds in time if the pont de vue is a lie but then who will eat the redfish's tears and give you back your england boats bring us down the shallow john's charivari there is only that opelousas beau with his geste juice healing and the six fingers strumming under ol canvas back with his putomayo spin hems, laissez les bon temps roulez __________ dark scribblenote: l'oranger is "the orange tree", acadians are pre-cajun, monday food is red beans and rice, the pipes were acadian bagpipes before they went to la and took up fiddles and squeezeboxes, ossun is a town in la and file' is a spice and pont de vue is a dance ballad about a girl that disobeyed, shallow johns are the flat bottom john boats used on the bayou, charivari is a rowdy dow party, opelousas beau is beau geste who was known for his medicine (home brew) and six fingers refers to the six fingered black creole accordionist D Bellard..and laissez les bon temps roulez is "let the good times roll"...why? just some speak easy groove voodoo for the old school crews of Acadia..til their hoverings are homes again. |

I have enjoyed reading this over and over, and the sounds and images it creates. |

I have to admit that I had NO clue what the heck you were saying, and read it over to figure it out... until I realized I was caught up in the words and didn't really care what it meant. You, Sir, bring more to a poem, and are able to make absolute gibberish (to my feeble mind, anyhow) sound as lyrical as the best ever written. Once I understood the meanings and the words.. the poem just became that much better. When all is said |
