So much of life is working hard To reach and go that extra yard Then to sleep and start again Of quality we question then And tired then too often we To then relax and freedom see For all the time we call our own Appears just spent when all alone Appreciation comes at cost And often when the years are lost When we look back at what had been Then finding what we should have seen But though I know, not much will change And even though to you it’s strange What had been was not for me It gave what others choose to see So slowly I grow old with years As the lines and more grey hair appears In wonder of what might become When trying gave the score of none So now I do what just feels right The things that help me through the night And wonder of how goes their day While saying life is all OK |

The complexity of life never ceases to make us wonder, indeed! Sometimes we feel the pressure of time, but if we live in the moment it's less fearful. Your conclusion is the best possible one: Life is OK the way it is. Mysteries will be solved at the right time. Thoughtful piece, beautifully written. Love, Margherita |

Seems we worry and save, worry and save all of our lives ..... until we are in a place where there are no worries and our savings are not needed. Huh? Great write to ponder Rick. hugs, Chris Poetry is an echo, asking a shadow to dance. |

If I've learned anything at all in my ripe old age, it is that we should never ever compromise our lives, or our values to please another. Our individual peace and happiness is worth it's weight in gold, and the cost is too great to lose sight of. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Appreciation comes at cost And often when the years are lost When we look back at what had been Then finding what we should have seen But though I know, not much will change ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Yea, that!! Thank you for this. I thoroughly enjoyed your poem, Rick! |
