ok, so it's a full moon night and all the mares are uptight and the game of thump-a-rump is in full swing (did I mention this may be about horses?) although, I must admit I've witnessed some two-leggeds playing the same lame game and I am not impressed when they've dressed down another in this thump-a-rump game which is such a waste of time and rarely does it make me rhyme yet I see it day-in-and-night-out and have once or twice thumped-a-rump ~even thumped myself~ for falling for that game that always ends so predicatably..> with some lame pecking order being re-established re-confirmed, and dammit! I am so terribly bored with that game and does anyone know what the H what I'm talking about? [This message has been edited by Midnitesun (09-17-2005 01:59 AM).] |

LOL I am so tired I need an explanation of this poem. But I liked it because it was funny. Poetry is beauty in words. |

LOL, thanks Jo. This is for real...full moon, mares kicking butt...I had to laugh tonight feeding 26 horses, 12 in the pasture. While the rain poured down, they all stood there, as horses will do...heads down, looking as if the world was about to end. Then the rain stopped. I put some hay out in the few dry spots I could find. Yep, the butt kicking started, and I had to laugh, as it reminded me of some stuff I've been observing with two-leggeds. Not much difference except the two-leggeds aren't eating hay...not yet, anyway. |

I love the style. The way you zip-a-doo-dah-day your way through this poem is perfect for the subject matter. |

LOL, well, last night, it was the majestic PMS-like mares who were rowdy. This evening, it was two of the super-stud stallions. They are in separate stalls, but two were kicking the walls and hollering right after sunset, trying to show everyone who was in charge. I let them know I WAS IN CHARGE! so I told them all to SHUT the you-know-what-up, fed them some extra hay, turned off the barn lights and came home at 9:30PM. They better stay where they are through the night and no mischief! Full moon nights are always a bit tricky with ALL species of the animal kingdom. Last September, when I returned the morning after the September harvest full moon? two stall walls had been kicked down. LOL, but those maniacs were staring at each other, but not doing anything but pawing the ground and snorting at each other. |

Interesting write, dear Kacy! Full moon behaviour! This made me think: quote: ... not yet, anyway! And in some cases, as I have heard in a report about World War I, they have done it already! There was nothing to eat and they boiled hay and ate it to survive ... Wonderful that you have such confidence with horses! Love, Margherita |
