There are no daisies now to pick or petals “love me, love me not” to hold expectant breath inside because the flowers; they all died that time you said goodbye and birds, butterflies, and bees, once a-flutter in my feel left with nowhere else to go except into memory. And this hardship not uncommon in the add of months to years simply called ‘growing up’ into love’s backward slide from grandiose technicolour into black and white. So merges then love’s everything into the shadow lands but I’m a child, as you are, of the universe and universal light and love from the sky of my desire keeps me picking daisies in a field of only weeds. Oh, Helen, this is such a touching write. But, the daisy (which happens to be my favourite) is a strong little flower and it won't give up on love....nor should you. Well done. hugs, Chris Poetry is an echo, asking a shadow to dance. |

Thank you, Chris. I'll never give up on love because I know if not this lifetime then the next. It's just the waiting that's hard. |

I still have a mental picture of what the daisies look like so that when I do come across them again I will know what they are.. Well done! |

This poem touches the heart of me...I believe that once we give our love it stays given even though there may be great pain from the giving of it...If I were to go back in time I would give my love again just as I have for I believe that in the giving I was shaped into the person I am today...This poem is absolutely wonderful...thank you, so much, for sharing it with us...**big hugs** |

Thank you all for the read. Startime - you are so right and Jo - yes, weeds can be beautiful if we hadn't first seen the flowers. |
