Softly silent scraping sounds leaves against window’s glass Child’s terror in the night breathless prayers that it will pass Harsh whispers in the dark cutting like a jagged knife opening wounds that won’t heal between husband and wife Sleeping child pulled awake covers held tightly to her chin Whispers become shouts now the fighting can begin Silent witness to the pain of a marriage torn asunder Words like vicious storms cascade verbal lightening, spoken thunder |

"Silent witness to the pain of a marriage torn asunder Words like vicious storms cascade verbal lightening, spoken thunder" I know this. I'm sorry if this is what you have known as well. I hope it all comes out better in the end. You use words beautifully You know? I thought you were smart...But you cant see what is directly in front of your face... |

This is so terribly sad Sharon.. and unfortunately happens all too frequently. The innocent children get caught in the crossfire. Very well written. Heart Hugs. I wait now at the lake or walking by the bay |

Yes... I know of this. Also, it reminded me, somewhat, of lyrics to a song by MDB. Enjoyed. |

Thank you all for reading. This is not about me or anyone I know...but it seems we as writers sometimes have more empathy for the suffering of our fellow man. I actually posted this for a reason. I seldom have time to read and reply here anymore. Family obligations and a new home/job/city have taken my time for the past year or more. It makes me sad that I'm not an integral part of PiP as often as I would like. I'd also like to have MORE time to write so if anyone knows how to stretch a 24 hour day into a 30 hour day, please let me know. As I said. I do appreciate you reading my work even though I don't have a lot of time to read and reply to you all. Guess I just wanted to get something in this forum so I'm not forgotten!!! Shame on me for being so egotistical! LOL |

Sharon?... You will NEVER be forgotten, my friend... I miss talking to you... and, as heartbreaking a topic as it is, I enjoyed the read... "When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace." --Jimi Hendrix |
