“Believe in me, believe in me”, sings a man on the rocks with a rod while I wait a the end of his line for the swing, slam, dunk, of happiness, love. If thoughts alone could fill up his pot, I’d think myself happy when not and might even pray in the spray of life as it is today … but another good swing, slam, dunk, and the fisherman on the rocks with his rod falls asleep as quick as you please. I think of my needs and desires. Yes, miracles would be “nice” because “Pull me up, pull me up, I’ve found something real” banned from the dream the fisherman dreams when he’s asleep, you see? So, there follows a gulp and a gurgle from under the raging sea and I, the fisherman’s only hope of being satisfied sinks and sinks until heaven blinks and, wham, I’m back on the rocks with a fisherman and his rod. I am the way and the means of filling his empty feel but swing, slam, dunk, and I must be love because nobody thinks about love. So, there follows a gulp and a gurgle and I believe it is only me in the sea, the sea, of all I can feel when the fisherman sleeps. Does he dream of being under the sea and how he would maybe feel if he looked through the eyes of a woman like me? Helen / 11 September 2005 |

"So, there follows a gulp and a gurgle and I believe it is only me in the sea, the sea, of all I can feel when the fisherman sleeps." Helen....understanding this. I think I nearly drowned in that sea several years ago. And to tell the truth, I wouldn't guaranty that even though I'm okay now...if that "fisherman" quit sleeping...I'd probably start gulping for air again! Loved this poem. .....jo |

Thanks, Angelheart. "some possible way" would be a miracle - do you believe in miracles in life as it is today? Martie - I'm so glad it made you smile. If I were to fish and look into the eyes I've no doubt that I would cry. That's just me and not to say I've got any problem with fishing or a day in the sun. |

Hi, Jo - And you and I both breathe real air today but wouldn't it be "nice" to always breathe in miracles - gurgles and gulps aside? Sigh! |
