How softly the unexpected snowdrift
does blow itself
over windows and doorsills.

Hearts left outside in the cold
head for the hillsides
of warmer sanctuaries.
Warm hideaways await.

But still the north wind blows
the chilling snows
and it seems there is
no escape or refuge.

But what light is that
glowing on yonder horizon?
The home hearth beckons;
for the cider is warm,
the kindling is stacked.
It simply awaits eager hands
to ignite the fires once again.

HEY KACY!!
I just wanna know,
when I come in
from playing in the snow
would you share a cup of cocoa with me
as we sit around the tree
laughing, and speaking of peace and good will....
then you can watch as I disapear over the hill...

with a ho ho ho...
Merry Christmas, now off I go!!

(sorry, couldnt help myself.

Kacy?

I want to send this to someone, it reminds me so of a place by a river.

The gift of snow so often brings up hearth and home images.  Thank you.  Ken

Through rubble and trouble and dark of night
The yawn of a dawn will hasten the light
