How softly the unexpected snowdrift does blow itself over windows and doorsills. Hearts left outside in the cold head for the hillsides of warmer sanctuaries. Warm hideaways await. But still the north wind blows the chilling snows and it seems there is no escape or refuge. But what light is that glowing on yonder horizon? The home hearth beckons; for the cider is warm, the kindling is stacked. It simply awaits eager hands to ignite the fires once again. |
